"When Egyptian Belly Dancing classes were being offered at my gym, I decided to sign up. I had always wanted to try it but thought maybe I was to old to start at age 69. But then I thought, "well I'll try for the six weeks offered and see how it goes". It has been an awesome experience.

Megan Robbins is a friendly, charismatic teacher whose love of Egyptian Belly Dancing is evident in her had work and dedication to teaching, organizing and choreography. She is an incredible dancer herself and is always smiling and encouraging her classes. Megan's teaching techniques are fun and progressive, putting what we learn into practice in an actual dance.

I had the opportunity of performing on stage in front of several hundred people in the production of "1001 Nights" in Chatham as well as at the Carrousel of Nations at the Teutonia Club. The experience was exhilarating and fun and I am looking forward to learning more dances and more performing opportunities. There are no age barriers and we are all unique ladies, each in our own way. Belly Dancing is good physical and mental exercise and enhances ones self-esteem.

I am so happy and proud to be part of such a great group of gals."

My name is Kathy and I am going to be 65 years old soon. I promised myself along time ago not to be a rocking chair Granny.

Many years ago, I learned to belly dance and forgot how much fun it was, until I saw your sign at Absolute Fitness for Women on Ottawa and Walker Rd., here in Windsor, Ont. I am delighted to be part of this wonderful, exciting class. I was a little worried that I might not be able to do these exercises, as I am overweight, under exercised and was living a very sedentary life style. My first month was "Hell on Wheels", muscle pains where I did not know really existed. I have fibromyalgia and other health problems. With permission from my family Doctor that I was okay to do this kind of exercise, I began my new life adventure. Months later and many nights in bed, I can now dance and feel wonderful at the end of the evening. It has been a lot of fun, great isometric exercise, and wonderful ways to move the body. In the beginning I could hardly even move this obese body, but now it moves!! I have lost more than 4 inches from this frame and hope to begin another kind of class to help me with my weight. I look forward to this evening with Megan’s entire Troupe. She has a wonderful group of women learning to be Belly Dancers. She also has classes in around the county and has a dance troupe who performs at dinner clubs. Maybe one day I shall join her troupe... I shall continue for as long as this old body will allow me to participate in Belly Dancing classes. I feel better, physically and mentally. I have fun and it is exciting to able to move in the manner that we do dancing. Wonderful and exciting exercise when you are dancing. It feels good and looks good too, and an evening out with a group of women. We laugh and have a lot of fun. My wish is that more oldies get out of there rocking chairs and start to move and get healthy.

"With bare feet connected to the ground
And sensual movements of hips, legs and arms
This woman has truly found her inner beauty
As well as a greater sense of self-worth."

"Belly Dance is fun, an awesome work-out and great for women of all ages, shapes, sizes and skill levels! It made me want to start dancing again, and i love the the friendships and bonds I have formed with other women who I may not ordinarily have met, were it not for Belly Dance."

"Belly dancing has been one of the best ways to add cardio to my fitness routine. I don't have to force myself to get into the gym for a workout, and I'm getting in shape, while dancing to some beautiful music and learning this wonderful art. Megan's classes have been so much fun, and I look forward to them weekly!"

"Bellydance has truly opened my world and expanded my life. At the most basic it has improved my physical health, made me stronger, more limber and helped me lose 67 pounds! I can see my waist again! But more importantly bellydance has lifted my soul! I have met truly wonderful women, who will be lifelong friends. I have discovered the joy of performing, sometimes dancing for those who can no longer dance themselves. It is so warming to see someone's eyes light up, mesmerized by the costume and the performance especially a senior or a child! Classes, performances, practice, I love it all! I had never danced before but now I plan to never stop!"
